Adult students on both side of the sea - The learning path supported by technology and counselling 〰️

The aim of the project is to build a partnership between Otavia (FI) and Audentes (EST) while developing and implementing e-Learning and e-Counselling, particularly from the perspective of well-being, special education and individual career paths of students and skills needed in the future working life.

The project’s background

The aim is to identify individual challenges of each organization as well as shared challenges we are facing in our daily counselling and teaching practices and the implementation of our national core curricula. We both are unique service providers in our countries.

This project is a way for us to provide each other peer support and to strengthen our collaboration. In the post-pandemic world educators need to develop their online-pedagogy and online-counselling skills, because the world works increasingly online in comparison to the world before the pandemic. Our project could compile examples for others to use in the issues of distance learning. The project provides information, new solutions and ideas for development to those who are developing their online-education, online-counselling and their students ́ well-being aspects. Through this project we will be able to share best practices in transnational collaboration.

The value of cross national collaboration is a broader perspective on the way our students experience learning and on the effectiveness of the support that we provide for students. It enables us to decide on more effective ways to support their learning and transition from school to working life and future educational transitions. The project will benefit organisations outside of the project, as well: the local communities and national cooperation partners and organisations, e.g. other educational organisations.

The main goals

These goals are closely linked to our priorities which are:

  • Improving the availability of high quality learning opportunities for adults

  • Improving the competences of educators and other adult education staff

  • Creating fluent transitions to education and employment pathways, improving accessibility and increasing take-up of adult education

Student orientation is the priority of the project goals. The participating schools Otavia and Audentes will regularly exchange good practices on these themes, as well as organize webinars related to the themes and, if possible, a visit to both actors.
